Northern and Neon lights. How do they change colors?

The northern lights are a very cool thing to see if you get the chance to. The northern lights are made up of shafts or curtains of colored light visible on occasion in the night sky. The picture above is the northern lights in Aurora. The neon lights also have a similarity with the northern lights from my opinion because as you can see from the images above the Northern lights can switch colors off and on just like how bright neon lights can. Neon lights glow by using a modest electric voltage with electrodes at the end of a glass tube containing the inert gas then the light begins to glow with all the electricity combining together. Neon lights fit their name very well because they are made up of the gas neon, which is what makes up most of the energy for it to give off it's asstonishing glow and light. As you can see above on the right is the neon lights that have the really cool color that they give off and on the left is a picture of the northern lights. The northern lights come in a variety of colors and the hot pink is only one out of maybe 100 or even more. You would have to be out at the right place and the right time to be able to see the northern lights because they come out in the night sky very occasionally.

Disney World!!!

I am going to disney world!!! This is my second time going I went there 1 time before at the end of fourth grade, but I'm sure this time will be much funner. You may think that disney world is for little kids who just like to see mickey mouse and stuff, but actually it is the funnest place I have ever went on vacation to. There is things for people of all ages. For example little rides like it's a small world, which in my opinion I thought was pretty boring because you just rode around in a really small boat listening to really annoying people with freakishly high voices singing a song over and over again.

Okay now lets get to the fun stuff. We will start with the resturants. According to the packets that hold all your information disney world has a total of 140 resturants that's quite a bit. The last time I went my favorite resturant was the Cape May Cafe. It was really cool. You know how at most resturants they give you little coloring books to draw in, well at this one the table cloth would just be a big sheet of paper and it was actually like you were drawing on your table. It was a good thing too that the table cloth was just paper because you got really messy. My favorite meal there was clams o did i mention it was a buffet so you could have as much as you want it was awesome. My parents promised me I would go there. Yes!!!

Now it's time for my favorite time of the vacation which was the roller coasters!!! Me and my dad went on lots because we were the only ones tall enough too, well besides my mom who had to stay with the shorties tee hee!!! Anyway my favorite one out of all the ones I went on was the Rockin Roller Coaster with Aero Smith. Above to the left is a picture of the outside of the roller coaster. The total theme of it was for you to be going to one of Aerosmith's conserts. I won't give you all the details you will have to find out on yourself.
These are not even one fourth of all the adventures you could have in Disney World there is tons to see, but so little time that's what I think because it is only a week how would they expect us to have all that fun in a week? Anyway the one down part about this vacation is that I won't get to see my friends or even talk or text them for a whole week. Boo hoo. O well though I will be back with all my sun burned glory. So hope I have left you on a good note about Disney World.

Chlorine.

Chlorine was said to be discovered in 1744. The discoverers were Carl Wilhelm who prepared it in Sweden and Sir Humphry Davey in UK in the 1800's. Chlorine is the 17th element and it's atomic number is of course 17 and it's symbol is very similar to it because it is Cl which is the first two letters of the word. It also is made up of 18 neautrons. There is alot of history that goes back to 1744 and here is just a little of it. Of course Carl Wilhelm who was the discoverer of Chlorine got most of the information that we have today about chlorine, but some of the things you might not know are that Carl thought that chlorine was a hydrocholic acid. He would heat hydrochloric and maganese dioixide then he produced a greenish yellowish gas and he wasn't sure if it was chlorine yet. Finally the name chlorine got it's name and symbol from the greek word chloros, which means pail green. More information about chlorine that you might not know is that it was used in World War I. How this is possible is that they would use it as a poison and put it on the battle feilds, which later they would egnite on fire. You may have also heard of the gas mustard gas and chlorine was the beginning of mustard gas also.

Now a days chlorine is still helpful in our lives, but in much different ways. Did you know that some of the things that include chlorine is salt it actually uses two elements chlorine and sodium. If you like to swim then you might know that most swimming pools are filled with chlorine to keep it clean.
Above to the right is a picture of chlorine's atomic number, symbol, and, mass number. Hopefyully that gives you a good example of what chlorine is on the periodic table. Hope you have learned as much as I have about chlorine's history, what it is used for, and all of it's atomic number and other things.

Middle School Life

Middle school is way better than elementary by so many ways. Some of the reasons are you can do like anything you want and you only get in trouble for the big things you do. One thing that will always stay the same when people go into middle school is that when you graduate from elementary you are preparing for the great adventures ahead some of those adventures can actually sometimes be found in middle school. Another thing I love about middle school is that at my school the classes are only like 45 minutes to an hous long then we get a 5 minute break to go move around and then go to a whole knew teacher and classroom. This makes the day go by way faster than it did in elementary. SPORTS!!! Would have to be my ultimate favorite thing about middle school. I went out for volleyball, basketball, cheerleading, and now it is track season. Here are some of my opinions about these sports and which ones were my favorite and least favorite. Let's start with volleyball. I like it, but it isn't my all time favorite sport. Now basketball is a whole knew story. It is my all time favorite. Cheerleading I hated lol, but it was a good time to spend with all my friends and on the plus side I got to go to all the b ball games. I love track too. It is also one of my favorites besides basketball. It isn't a team sport unlike the others, but it is very social and it's probably the one sport where you are with your friends most of the time.
There is however some ups and downs in middle school. You know all the drama with relationships, gossip, and all that stuff. Nobody really knows how all this drama gets started first one person says something like I love chocolate milk then once it gets spread around the school it could end up being I love coconut pop lol. This is just an example the real rumor would probably be a much weirder thing. I am for one pretty sick of drama, but o well i doubt it will never stop it's like a way of life everyone spreads a secret once in a while.
Some of my favorite classes are P.E and I know this isn't exactly a subject, but I like recess too. Tee Hee!!! I also like english and math they are two of the hardest and boringest classes, but in math my teacher makes it really fun when you think your about to die of bordom. Well my school year is almost over I only have about 28 more days or so untill it's out for the summer, but I actually have less than 28 days because I get to go to Disnew World!! Ya- Hoo!!! I can't wait for summer to begin and get ready for another day of middle school life.

Theme of the day- More American Idol reviews!!!

There is only 7 more contestants left on season 8 for American Idol now. The more contestants get voted off the more intence the competition gets. Also the longer you stay on the show you get to meet more famous singers and entertainers every week. For example, some of the performances that have been played on American Idol since it got down to the top twelve are Carrie Underwood accompanied by Randy Travis, Fol- Rida, Lady Ga-ga, and Kellie Pickler. These are maybe just a few of the famous entertainers some have been the weeks hottest hits such as Poker Face by Lady Ga-ga and Right Round by Flo-Rida. As you might have read on my last review on the show Scott MacIntyre is a bling guy. Some people say he was only on the show because he was blind, but one cool thing about it was that he could play the piano very well, just like Stevy Wonders almost. Unfortunatly Scott got voted off last week, but he made it past the top 12, which means he gets to go on the famous American Idol tour this summer. Here are some of my own opinions for who are my favorite contestants and some of my least favorite ones. Adam Lambert and Danny Gokey are my top two favorite guys. You might not know this, but there are only two girls left on season 8 and my favorite is the rocker chick Allison Iraheta.

What I did over Easter Vacation? I saw the Hannah Montana Movie!!!

This weekend over my Easter Vacation I went and saw the Hannah Montana movie here are some of my opinions and facts about Miley Cyrus. I didn't really want to go see this movie, but after I went and saw it I thought it was way better than I expected. Here are some cool information about the movie and more!!!
Miley Cyrus became famous when her and her dad Billy Ray Cyrus started a show on Disney channel that became famous world wide. Now they are even more famous for their new movie. This movie made over 35 million dollars in 1 weekend, which was this easter weekend. That's like a world record for the most money made for one movie in one weekend I think. Miley Cyrus is only 16 years old. Along with her show Hannah Montana she is also teen pop sensation besides just Hannah Montana. Miley Cyrus has sang over 100 songs, but only ten of her best ones are being put onto the meet Miley Cyrus CD. In the movie Hannah Montana she has to choose between being Hannah or Miley because she keeps thinking that it's too hard to be both and keep it a secret that she is Hannah Montana. There is one evil person in the movie who tries to get what secret she is keeping, but I won't give it all away. I'll say a movie that makes over 35 million dollars in one weekend should be pretty good. Even though I might be a little old for Hannah Montana I saw it anyway and I thought it was a good movie, better than I thought it would be anyway. You may not have heard of Miley's real Mom on the show that much, but she does have one, well atleast that is what everyone says. In the show and movie her mom does die, but that isn't in real life so who knows? This is just a summary of what you could be seeing now in theaters. She does have some other siblings because on her show her younger sister around age 6 or 7 plays a role in it and has another sister who sometimes accompanies her on stage when she is performing with the guitar. Hope I have left you with some good information to see if the Hannah Montana movie is right for you!!

Periodic Table of Elements

Different elements are always being discovered 24 hours a day 7 days a week. The periodic table of elements has been around for a very, very long time. Lot's of people have been working on the table to finish it and make it complete, but they say most of the credit should be given to a Russian chemist Dmitri Mendeleev. He must have put forth the most effort out of all the scientists. He was born in Tobolsk Siberia in 1834. People calls him the father of the periodic table. The main reasons the periodic table was invented was to help make it easier for chemists, scientists, and even students to see the complex world of chemical reactions. However Mendeleev died January 20. 1907 at the age of 73. His science gift did not end there because that just shows you how his gift of chemistry passed on and how all the other famous chemists are still working on the periodic table of elements to make it bigger and better than ever before. Scientist discovered on October 16, 2006 that there were 117 elements all together. Some of the old elements that have been known for thousands of years are gold, copper, carbon, and silver. Others like meitnerium, darmstadtium, and ununquadium have just recently been discovered. Each element is made up entirely of 1 type of atom. Above to the right you can see the five most important elements from the periodic table. I hope you have learned as much about the periodic table of elements as I have. This is really cool stuff and it's actually fun to learn about!!!

Theme of the day- Aeropostale, American Eagle and Mall of America.

Aeropastale is one of the best stores in the world. They got the name Aeropostale from a french aviation company in the 1900's the word Aeropostale actually means "air mail". Their clothing is supposably made in El Salvador. Did you also know that their store was ranked Business week's #1 hottest growth company in 2003. American Eagle was also ranked very well in that subject. People say that American Eagle's clothing is made in Honduras. Neither one of these shop's clothings are made in America nobody knows why.
Aeropostale has things from sweatshirts to pajamas and slippers. American Eagle is famous for their jeans and summer clothing such as flip flops and capris shorts. The biggest thing that these stores have in common are that they are both for 14 to 17 year old teens. Even though their clothes might be a little expensive they are last all year material because you can wear their hoodys all year-round. If you like American Eagle and Aeropostale clothing leave me a comment and tell what you like best about these stores. For example tell what your favorite items are in both of the stores not just one.

Homogeneous and Heterogeneous mixtures.

A mixture is a combination that has to be two or more substances. Most of the natural substances are almost all mixtures. If you don't know what homogenous and heterogenous mixtures are I'm here to tell you. Homogenous is a mixture that stays the same no matter what you do to it. Heterogenous however is a mixture that changes alot and indicates difference.
Here are some examples of some heterogenous mixtures and homogenous and some science things that have neither of the two mixtures. First , you may think that dry ice is a heterogenous because the longer you let it sit the more it smokes and melts, which that is change. It isn't though because dry ice is a pure substance and when something is a pure substance it can't be either. The first thing I wondered was how dry ice could be a solid, but it is because it's so cold it produces steam, and the carbon dioxide also gives off the steam of the dry ice. Some of the things that do have homogenous are all the substances that are mixed up very well. This includes cement, gravy, lemonade, and nail polish. If you think about it these substances are all mixed untill they are silky smooth. And last, but not least the heterogenous mixtures. Salty water is a heterogenous mixture along with brewed tea, coffee, soapy water and hard alcohol. These substances are always changing because the soap in the soapy water can always either getting bigger or evaporating and discinigrating. Hope you have learned as much as I ahve about these unique mixtures. Even if you are not that all into science and experimental stuff these are good things to know!!!

Theme of the day- Tie Die!!! and flip flops!!!

Tie die first got invented in the 1960's. There is still alot of different forms of tie die being invented in India, Japan, and Africa. Bandhani is a type of Indian tie dyeing and it's the oldest tie dieing in history. It's very simple to tie die, but the thing that you have to look out for is the big mess that you would probably have to look out for with all the permanent dies.

Now let's get to flip flops. Everyone knows that flip flops are the best shoe ever invented, but the question is who invented them. Flip flops were developed by Japanese woven and wooden sandles. They are not just used to wear around in the summer. There is a dressier version of flip flops too. These versions are usually made out of leather, metallic, and other types of textiles.

Theme of the day-snow and bad whether

It's blizzarding!!! Snow is very dumb it was cool at the very beginning of the year, but when it blizards at the end of March and at the very beginning of April it is pretty pathetic and very annoying. Did you know that the biggest snow storm was 923 feet deep at it's deepest point. The largest ski area in the world is Portes Du Soleil and it has the record for 13 ski areas. With 650 square kilometers of skiable terrain. The 13 ski areas are spanning from France to Switzerland. The bad thing about this masive ski area is that the bus route back to your hotel can take over 6 hours to get across the region. Above is another humungous ski area in North America.

Theme of the day-American Idol season 8

As you might know that American Idol is still going for the 8th season now. There has been some changes to the show since season 7. A knew judge has joined and her name is Kara DioGuardi.Apparently she has been famous for quite some time now because radio has been interviewing her and she is a very good song writer. You might have heard of the band called Theory of a Dead Man and she has helped them write some amazing songs and help them get to where they are today. On the previous episodes of American Idol they narrowed it down to 12 contestants and just on the previous episode last night and about a week ago some contestants got cut and now there is only 8 remaining. According to the judges the best one who has been blowing them away with his performances for 3 weeks in a row now is Adam Lambert. He once again did that last night. There was a guest performer on the show last night, well actually 2. They were David Cook the previous winner from season 7 and Lady Ga-ga who is a pop sensation now. One of the singers who is still on the show and now becoming part of the top 12 is Scott Machentire. One thing that is so unique about this contestant is that he is blind and has made it so far in the competition. Another thing about him is he can play the piano very very well with his disability. The remaining contestants performed 'Don't Stop Believing' by the band Journey. This was American Idol's news of the week!!!
